Rutland County has a Running Club
The Marble Valley Runners

  Club News

Organized in 2006, the Marble Valley Runners running club has become a fixture in the Rutland physical activity community.  We have hosted several races, the most notable being the Runners' Rally 5k trail race every September, and the Mother's Day Stroller 5k.  We also hold Group Runs, and help organize training support for runners who are preparing for a specific race, from their first 5k to the Boston Marathon.  We have lots of fun besides just running too!  We have been in the world famous Rutland Halloween Parade, and we organized the 2006 First Night "5k at 5" complete with goofy costumes donned by runners and organizers alike.  We would like you to consider joining our group, as a club member;  we maintain an "all inclusive" philosophy and welcome runners of all ages and abilities.  We are affiliated with the Road Runners Club of America.  Please visit our website often for updates, and race calendar additions.

Track Interval Training Sundays at 6 pm
John Klein, Castleton State Assistant Cross Country Coach and MVR Club Member, has offered to head up a weekly interval training session.  It will be at the Rutland High School track (a really nice facility).  It will be every Sunday at 6 pm.  If you are training for a specific event or you just want to get faster then interval training is something you want to explore.  John is a wealth of sports knowledge.  He is not only a coach, but he has been a competitive runner for many years.
